The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for Parliamentary Library Officer - Affirmative Measures vacancy within the Collections & Databases branch.
As a Library Officer you will be exposed to all areas of the Parliamentary Library and will have the opportunity to provide a range of tasks associated with the provision of services to library clients, including cataloguing, digitisation, editing and quality assurance of the metadata in the Library’s databases and assisting in the maintenance of Library systems.
We are looking for applicants with a strong client focus, attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a team. We require flexible, proactive individuals with a willingness to learn new skills. The successful applicant will utilise their strong communications skills and flexibility to contribute to exceptional client service delivery in a collaborative manner across the Parliamentary Library.
Undertaking or completed qualifications in librarianship and/or information studies recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association is desirable.
Some staff at this level are expected to be available for an 8.00am start.
The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.
Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for a specified term
This recruitment process is being used to fill both ongoing and non-ongoing positions. Non-ongoing positions will be offered up to 12 month basis.
