The National Library of Australia is seeking graduates from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent for our 2018 Graduate Program.
Library Graduates participate in a range of development activities and placements enabling them to gain new skills and experience in the Library and cultural sector. Graduates have the opportunity to work with our collection material (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander material) such as oral histories, pictures, archived websites, manuscripts, maps and ephemera. The National Library’s published collection also contains Indigenous Australian language dictionaries, word lists and lexicons covering hundreds of languages and dialects. Graduates enjoy a working environment that is challenging, rewarding and collaborative, and receive the support of a cohort of past Indigenous Graduates.
Graduates from all disciplines are welcome to apply, however, you must be interested in a career in the cultural sector and passionate about building, managing and preserving the nations cultural heritage. The Library seeks to employ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to help build, manage and preserve collections for future generations, and ensure Australias stories can be known and told into the future with respect and sensitivity.
As the Library is located in Canberra, applicants must be willing to relocate if interstate.
