What will you do?

Work independently and with other areas of the museum, to research, develop and provide the curatorial lead in developing a major exhibition to be opened in 2020 focusing on the concept and history of treaties as established by First Peoples in Australia, the Pacific and North America and their ongoing relevance today in the continuing dialogue between First Nation peoples and governments.

The role requires the ability to work independently and collaborate with, harness resources and lead other internal and external stakeholders to research, develop and provide input. It will also be responsible for coordinating associated activities such as conferences, symposiums, lectures, publications, blogs and film/documentary projects, as well as liaising with all relevant community groups and staff from collaborating institutions. The role may also require to assist in other projects led by the museum’s Indigenous unit or other sections.

Eligibility

This position is an Aboriginal and Torres Islander identified position. This is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people under Clause 26 of the Public Service Commissioner’s Direction 2016.
