Job description


The Director of the NTRU will provide leadership in research, including supervising and managing teams, attracting high levels of funding, developing strategic partnerships and managing stakeholders in native title and related areas such as land and water and governance.

They will have strong networks with Indigenous researchers and organisations in their field and be able to bring those networks to bear to build AIATSIS’ research capacity.

The Director will make independent and original contributions to research that have a significant impact on his or her field of expertise, including a distinguished record of published work. Their work will be acknowledged at a national or international level as being influential in his or her area of expertise.

Preferably the candidate will have specialist native title knowledge and/or experience.



Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for a specified term
