Duties

Preservation digitisation technicians work in small teams of specialist technical staff responsible for the digitisation of the AIATSIS Collections.

This role has a focus on audiovisual media digitisation, including a range of analogue and digital video formats.The work involves handling of audiovisual collection material, preparation of material prior to digitisation, digitisation, quality assessment, file management and other associated tasks. The role requires a sound knowledge of digitisation standards, practices and workflows and prior experience with a wide range of analogue and digital audiovisual equipment & software to ensure that the materials are appropriately preserved in a timely fashion.

The role at times involves working with culturally sensitive materials and requires the application of appropriate working practices in these circumstances.
